A little more about Wren.

A few answers before you write your first letter.

What happens to my letter?

You write under a randomly generated handle. Wren screens the letter before delivering it to a few strangers, who can reply or send a hug. You read the replies in My letters. If a reply leads to a connection, you can invite that person to continue in a thread. Both people must agree.

When do letters arrive?

A small selection of letters arrives each day, normally at 7am in your time zone. You can change your delivery time in the app. People reply when they have the space; a human reply by a particular hour isn’t guaranteed.

Are the replies from people or AI?

Wren is built for people to answer one another. If a letter is still unanswered 12 hours after its first delivery, Wren provides a clearly labeled AI note as a first response. Human replies can still follow. AI notes are visibly identified in the app.

Do I need to use my real name?

No. Wren gives you an anonymous handle. You don’t need to add an email address to begin, but you can attach one for account recovery. Avoid including identifying details in your letters. See our privacy policy for how your writing and account data are handled.

What is free?

Writing, receiving replies, replying, sending hugs, and every safety tool are free. Optional membership adds extras, including higher writing limits and room for more ongoing threads. You don’t need membership to be heard.

What if a letter feels too heavy?

You can set it aside, choose not to receive heavy letters, or pause delivery. You can also report content, block someone, or leave a thread. Your capacity matters too.

Is Wren therapy?

Wren is peer support, not therapy or emergency care. Crisis resources in the app are always free. If you are in immediate danger, contact your local emergency services.

Where can I get Wren?

Wren is coming soon on Google Play for adults aged 18 and over. The download link will be available here when it launches.
